
Laboratory Director
Sébastien Tremblay has been Full Professor at Laval University since 2002, Honorary Professor at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom and Founder of the Co-DOT laboratory (www.co-dot.ulaval.ca). He is the holder of the new "Chaire de leadership en enseignement sur les solutions cognitives et intelligentes en pédagogie universitaire - Desjardins" (https://www.fss.ulaval.ca/actualites/chaire-leardership-sebastien-tremblay). Its research program focuses on human interaction with technologies. The main objective is to maximize human performance and well-being across a wide range of areas including security, emergency medicine, transportation, sport and entertainment. His work is funded in particular by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Social Sciences Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), the Ministry of Economy and Innovation (MEI), the Fonds de Recherche du Québec (FRQ), industry (eg Thales, Ubisoft) and various other organizations (eg MITACS, Prompt). He has published over 300 scientific articles and conference proceedings. In 2012, he received the Excellence in Teaching Award for his exceptional contribution to the supervision of master's and doctoral students. He is recognized within the scientific community and among his partners for his multidisciplinary vision, his contribution to innovation – technological and social – his leadership and his dynamism. This recognition was recently underscored by the awarding of the 2018 MITACS Award for Exceptional Leadership in Canada. S. Tremblay holds a doctorate in cognitive psychology (1999) from Cardiff University.
