Cognitive training is seen by many researchers and practitioners as a way to push the limits of human cognition. Other researchers are more cautious and raise conceptual and methodological concerns about the possibility of enhancing cognitive abilities through training. Research in this area aims to establish the potential of new training approaches and to clarify the limits of cognitive training. The combination of technologies such as AI agents, simulation and miXed Reality (XR) is a promising avenue for improving the effectiveness of cognitive training. One of our objectives is to validate whether immersive, adaptive and playful simulations can truly boost trainability.
